Ezra's Birthday

While we were still in construction mode with our house, having a party there was still not an option.  So Ezra decided he wanted to celebrate his birthday the way he had the previous year, with the arcade at Stars and Stripes.
They had a pay one price day the night before his birthday, so we took advantage of the deal and enjoyed much time there without a crowd.  The motorcycle ride was, by far, his favorite.
They even have virtual reality rides that the girls enjoyed (but made the adults queasy).
It was a very low stress way to celebrate our special boy!

The next morning Ezra turned 9, and he enjoyed his breakfast of choice, fresh banana bread from the cafe.
His school had a half day, so we grabbed his favorite lunch, a Publix sub.  There was a long line, so Shiloh enjoyed pushing Ezra around the produce section in a cart.  He really wanted to ride in the race car, as he did when he was little, so it was allowed for his special day.
Then we ate at a nearby picnic spot.
That afternoon, Ezra wanted to take his bike to the park (which we hadn't done before), and he really enjoyed riding it all around.
He requested Moe's for dinner...
and a special mini key lime pie he chose.
Gift time, starting from his sisters...
He is loving baby Yoda right now!
And always, RC cars.
It was a good day for my handsome boy!

A few days later we, also, celebrated with my family at my parents.
Kid table already digging in!
Then it was on to presents and sweet homemade cards!
He got what he asked for.....the main thing was peaches and avocados.  I'm not sure where this request came from but he was excited to have it fulfilled!
He, also, got some baby Yoda things, which he loves...
a RC car...
and some golf clubs!  He has been making a course in our backyard, so he was thrilled to have something to use with it.
A yummy cake coming at you!
And 9 trick candles for a lot of effort to get out!
Ezra, I'm so thankful for the sweet joyful boy that you are!  You love "all things boy" including still playing in your dirt pile, bike riding, baseball, and now golf, too!  You are a sweet friend with an easy going personality, which we are very thankful for in a house with some strong female personalities.  You enjoy reading things geared to boys and gross humor.  I so appreciate that you still love snuggles and your family so much! We are so thankful for who you are and that you are apart of our family!

Crossroads Woman's Retreat

Our women's retreat this year was at the beach, and I was able to drive there with my sister and mom.  It was so nice having unrushed time to connect.
The sessions were amazing, as always, but I don't take pictures of those.  We had some free time in the afternoon on Saturday and I enjoyed playing with watercolors....
and a walk on the beach with my creator.  One of my happy places for sure to get to admire much of His handwork....
and have time to talk with Him surrounded by beauty!
I came across this huge section of birds that I was able to get in the middle of and just watch them.
So many beautiful things to see.
We found a place where the wait wasn't to bad for a Saturday night dinner, and I took advantage of some picture opportunities.
Taco cheers!
I, also, included a couple of these awkward photos...
as for some reason I didn't really know exactly what to do with my body next to my preggo sister.
Selfies seem much easier!
The last morning provided a beautiful sunrise outside of our bacany.

I highly encouraged (that sounds better than dragged, right) my mom to come on a short walk before our morning session.
You can't go to the beach and not go on the beach!  We brought our coffee and coats...
and were able to see all the birds in action!
Buckies was on the way home, so we decided to all experience that for the first time and grab lunch there.  And it was an experience!  I found it quite comical and enjoyable (especially the clean restrooms).
Lauren was a good spot and was able to take a picture with Bucky himself!
It was a fun way to break up the drive and check that experience off the list.  I prayed that we could get out of there safely, as it did feel like quite a madhouse inside and in the parking lot (we only lost each other twice inside).
A treasured weekend and quality time that I was thankful to experience with some of the ones I love most!  The Lord is so gracious and I will be pondering a lot of what was taught this weekend, especially in regards to Sabbath!
