Choir & Carawinds

A big selling point for Shiloh for choir for her 5th grade year was a trip to Carowinds to perform for official judges.  She ended up loving the class and was so excited for this trip towards the end of the year.
Her amazing teacher was very close to having her baby, thus she wasn't able to go but we had other fabulous staff that were able to fill in for her!
The kids rode in a charter bus together.
Thankfully around 1.5 hours later they made it.
Danielle and I rode together and had to make a couple of quick stops on the way, but did get there in time for the main event, which was first thing. (We, also, may have gotten yelled at by a security guard for running, despite our speed not being very fast, to make it in time.)
The crew was very professional and took their job seriously. They gathered around to get the results afterward.
Even though they were told not to scream, it was impossible to hold in the excitement when they heard they got the highest marks of superior.  They couldn't wait to face time their teacher, Mrs. Turner with the news!
Then it was off to ride the rides!
We had the sweetest little group of Shiloh and her cousin and a couple of their good friends.
Fun to be with my sister as well!
The strong threat of rain that day meant few crowds, and we enjoyed this ride a few times.
Danielle and I decided to try their food pass while we were there through the day.  A great deal, the pass allows you to get a meal every 90 minutes.  We all shared one and had samplings of different things throughout the day.
Some are more of a fan of eating off the bone then others.
I attempted a fun picture, but it was a no go, as they were having to look toward the sun.
There were rides Shiloh and I opted out of, as we didn't want to get motion sickness.
Shiloh ended up doing well, though, and didn't have any issues with such the whole day.
Theses next pictures crack me up.  I jogged briefly ahead to attempt this picture again (this time against the sun), and for some reason they all started aggressively running as well....
Not  the look I was going for but brings a smile to my face nonetheless.
Another round of eats...
This crew sure was fun!!!  Mid afternoon the classes headed back on the bus.
Since Danielle drove, though, we were able to rock out the rest of the day.  The cousins had some great bonding time.
We did separate briefly for them to check out the huge rides, and I got a little one on one time with my girl!
While not the most popular ride, it was an amazing view on the tall revolving tower.
We could spot downtown Charlotte beyond the rollercoaster.
One of our favorite eats was the burrito bowl.
This ride was so scary...
just kidding.
Please take a nice picture with me...
but what she really wanted to do.
This diner had a super fun theme!
These are the best pictures I could get of the four of us....
Silly faces while waiting in line!
Dividing up the spoils of another meal.
The girls rode the snoopy roller coaster over and over again, thanks to no crowds.  I had done it one time earlier in the day, enough for me to learn I wouldn't do it again.  I don't like roller coasters or that feeling of going strait down!
While it was close to time to go and all the rides that wanted to be ridden were done, we decided on one last meal.  Mainly just because we could, and there has never been a time when they have had pizza at 9:30 at night.  Shiloh opted out, though, as she was tapped out.
Mission accepted and accomplished dining pass!  We shared a meal 7 different times throughout the day.  We never really got hungry or to full.  Great deal to feed the four of us for a little over $30 total (considering the meals are usually $18 dollars a piece, this was a steal), and added a little more fun adventure for the day!
The North and South Carolina border runs the entrance/exit of the park.
Skipping out of the park just short of the 10pm closing time...
Such a sweet (and very long) day!
These two were asleep shortly after getting into the car for the travel back home.
5th Choir trip in the books, and it was a great one!
