My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary! Instead of having a big party, they decided to celebrate by renting a lake house for the weekend and spending it with our family. It ended up being the perfect way to celebrate who they are, reflect on the life they have built together, and make even more memories as a family.
We kicked off the first night with a beautiful charcuterie spread from Abundant Graze, along with a few additions from us. They even included a special "50" made out of cheese!
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the dock while the kids wasted no time getting into the water with kayaks and swimming. That evening, we gathered together and started sharing favorite family memories.
The kids were into it and had so many stories they wanted to tell.
We laughed and reminisced late into the night, until about half of them eventually fell asleep!
Ezra and I kayaked out to a little island, where we got out and explored for a while.
He even discovered a flag that had somehow ended up there.
There was plenty of yummy food to enjoy throughout the weekend, including this interesting new-to-us fruit that we all got to try.
We also did a group photo scavenger hunt around the property, which resulted in lots of laughter, silliness, and some pretty fantastic pictures.
We split up into two multi-generational teams.
Next up was Grammy and Poppy Trivia, which brought even more laughs as we tested just how well everyone really knew our guests of honor. That evening, Beach grilled the steaks and then we all got cleaned up for a special anniversary dinner together.
We followed dinner with a yummy anniversary cake, and Ezra took on the important job of dishing out the ice cream.
