Zoe 9th

 This was Zoe's first year of high school, although since middle and high are in the same building it was all that much different.  However, Zoe was not so much a fan of it this year.  She did not like her yearbook picture....
So she did a retake.  I think she is adorable either way!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe participated in Cross Country again this year and was one of the captains again.
She started out strong, beating her PR very early in the season.  However, she got a sickness in her lungs that she just couldn't shake for a few months.
She still participated in as much as she was able but it was disappointing to her that she was not able to fully do so because of her health.
She has a great spirit about her, though, and I think was still a great co-captain!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe had a few setbacks with a couple of classes and classmates but was able to persevere and finish well!  Thankfully Geometry is now a thing of her past!  She was able to connect with some good friends towards the end of the year, which was a great encouragement as well.  Thankful that this year is complete and looking forward to summer break!

Shiloh - 7th

As the kids have gotten older, I don't have as many photos to represent their school year.
Seventh grade year and Shiloh was hitting more her stride.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A first for her, she joined cheerleading!
And was chosen as co-captin of the team. It was such a great experience for her and she thoroughly enjoyed it!
They participated in many bonding events.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We have hit the stage of begging me not to be a chaperone on field trips...so I rely on others for pictures, and this is the result.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh is working so hard in her classes, despite some setbacks and more new math teachers, she did fantastic throughout the year.
Mostly I am proud of her character and she even got a RAISE award.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh had her cheer team banquet with a black out theme.
Captin awards!
Captains with their coach!
With the varsity captains as well.
I snagged my own picture when she got home that night.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh was, also, a part of the Unified Cheer at her school (a program that her team supports Special Olympics and students).  They had a state competition that they ending up winning gold in their category.
Proud of these girls and their support for one another.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh did not have as much free time with everything else going on but did do some sketching.
The propagating plants in her room.
I am proud of how hard Shiloh has worked this past year and all her growth. She had combated challenges with her health and school and continues to persevere!

The Other Celebrations of April

 April was another busy month with Zoe and Beach's birthday (we celebrated with the family all together) and our Spring Break trip out West!
One of Ezra's birthday gifts was a father/son weekend away at camp.
They stayed in a cabin with some other fellas and had a lot of fun with many different activites!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We love seeing family at church, even if it is brief!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe enjoyed some lake time with a friend.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Selfies found on my phone this month (shockingly few)....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are excited that our assistant manager is getting married!  While having a staff game night, we surprised her with a gift and wedding fun as well!
Then we had fun playing some silly games!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
National Honor Society for this beauty!
Proud of my girl!
We grabbed some take out on the way home....
and snagged this fun picture.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ezra participated in Run Hard again this spring.
The parents were invited to come to the practice where they earned their shirts.
These guys work hard!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh went on her birthday date with Lauren and Josiah.
The majority of this months pictures were had on our amazing out West trip but thankful for these celebrations as well!
Kid version of Las Vegas (Day 10 - part 2)
After a very full first half of the day, road tripping from Zion, we then had a few hours to spend in Vegas.  In that Beach and I had been a couple of years prior, I thought I would never take my kids here....but seeing as our flight was out of the city that never sleeps, things changed.  I was thankful to know the lay of the land, though, and where and how to take the kids to have a safe time.
After parking at our hotel, we scurried through what felt like a non ending hotel areas to get to the Paradox Museum, which was another stop on the Get Out Pass. (I'm not going to lie, this was anxiety producing and not my favorite, as there are so many people and darkness.)  I wasn't sure if we would make it before they closed, but we did and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The museum has several exhibits that really trick your mind and make for so many fun photos.
We thankfully had a staff member offer to take this photo, and explained how it worked!
Kids liked being silly...
and we tried out several poses!
House of mirrors is always fun...
and brought a lot of laughter!
Making shadows of yourself!
Game of poker with fierce opponents.
Optical illusions at its finest when using a camera!
A merged mirror...but the girls look so similar that you can hardly tell it is two different people.
Beach and Shiloh combo...
More fun will mirrors.
This was a silly one of Ezra and Shiloh....
Switch!
Another fun room....
Zoe was feeling it!
Shiloh was feeling dramatic...
Becoming one with the wall...
Another crazy one with optical illusions with the camera!
Beam me up!
Kaleidoscope of faces....can you tell who is each one?
And one more before we head back out...
They got a little carried away.
In doing a little research, one thing that Ezra really wanted to see was the Coke store (despite the fact that we don't drink soda).  It was close by and we were able to stop in!
I'm always a sucker for tastings....and this one of Coke around the world was fun for us to sample and guess the tasting notes and which country they were from!
While enjoying the view!
The coke elevator was also pretty epic.
Then we checked out the M&M store.
Layed out over several floors, it was interesting what you may see!
Then we journeyed back to our car...
For one last stop at the Strat.
Part of the Get Out Pass was to go up to the top of Strat Building (the tallest point in Vegas).
With views inside and out all around.
There was, also, a ride that when even taller, extending from the top of the building, a drop zone type experience!  This was a no go for me and Ezra but Beach went with the girls the first time and then they took another ride after that.
Screams were heard!
Ezra and I enjoyed watching and had helicopters fling right around us as well.
Checking out the view from the inside and a touch map!
One last look before heading to our hotel for the night!
We stayed at the Luxor Hotel, as I was familiar with it, you can get great deals, clean rooms, and the novelty of it being designed in a pyramid shape.
However, after a super long fun filled day....we are all ready for bed!
It didn't take long to get to sleep but we had a very short night in that we had to be at the airport bright and early!
BUT we made our flight on time...
and despite being so tired, I was very thankful for coffee (and the instant Loveland Coffee packets we brought).
This trip was beyond a blessing and my heart couldn't be more thankful for all that we were able to do and see of God's creation. I hope these core memories will be ones that we will look back with fondness for many years to come!  Thank you Jesus!
