Zion to Vegas (Day 10 - part 1)

We said goodbye to our little cabin in Utah and head back to Vagas where we would fly out the next morning!
After grabbing some coffee at a local coffee spot (it was crowded so I didn't take a pic), we were on our way. Since I had gotten the Get Out Pass, I had searched for things that were a part of it that would be of interest on our route. Mini golf was something Ezra was really looking forward too!
This place in St. George stood out with its green astroturf in an area that looked like the middle of the desert.

Thankfully the weather was not to hot, and we enjoyed a round.
The next stop on our route was a very random site of Little Mount Rushmore.
These carvings were done by a local resident and just along the roadside.  So we jumped out and snagged a picture with some of them.  Yet, another place were there was no one around.
Then we headed to the Vally of Fire State Park and got some more exploration in!
Our first stop there was the Beehives, which was a fascinating sandstone formation resembling beehives.
It felt like a huge nature playground!
Shiloh struggles with motion sickness and was not feeling it, so she rested in a hole for awhile!
This turned out to be Ezra's favorite from the whole trip!
I will agree it was a lot of fun and we even got a close up with an iguana!
Next up was out last and final hike of the trip, which was still in the Valley of Fire.  This one was almost all sand and had some major hills.  That, combined with very little shade, led to the kids not enjoying this trail as much.
It was hot, hence it's namesake, and I could understand why this part of the park is not even open during the summer months.
They would occasionally climb off the trail to look in fun holes!
The BEST part was about half way in walking through a canyon.
Shade breaks along the way!
In seeing this hole in the distance, Ezra ran to it to check it out, he has the most endurance of us all, it seems that nothing phases him!
The drive to and from the trail was very scenic!
We had one final stop before leaving the park and I was so glad we did!  The park is known for having desert bighorn sheep and we got to see some!
They even let us approach close to where they were getting some water.
Baby!
While the girls enjoyed checking them out further, the boys and I climbed a huge set of stairs to see some ancient petroglyphs carved into the red sandstone.
Once at the top of the stairs, they were still pretty high up and hard to imagine how they were originally put there!
After leaving the park and enjoying the AC, we headed to our last city destination, Vegas.  One of the things Ezra was, also, really looking forward to was trying In-Out.  He wore his shirt that was gifted from our neighbor for this occasion.
Hats, because that seems only right for a first time visit!
My hamburger loving man was excited by this 4 patty experience!
With full bellies and hearts, we checked this off their bucket list and headed to check in to our hotel and see what clean fun we could find in Vegas....
