Wrapping up the Summer and Starting Fresh (Aug '24)

 The girls kicked off meet the teacher night right at the beginning of August before starting school for the year!

While there was some nerves it was nothing like the first year, as they already had friends they were excited to see.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh was ready for her first ever real haircut (besides the couple of tiny trims that she sparingly allowed me to do).  I forgot a real "before picture" but snagged this one when the action was about to go down.
Even with six inches taken off she still has very long hair.
She was so happy with the result and getting her hair curled as well (this momma is not so good at that).
After picture!
She tired on her new uniform and looks way older than her 12-year-old self!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Selfies for the month that I find on my phone...
And when your teenager wants a random selfie with you, it is best to oblige.
Extra sillness encouraged.
I keep these because one day I will want to remember all the faces that my teen made!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lemonade stand for the summer!
We had surprise visitors from Beach's aunt and uncle who were in town to visit his parents.
It was great to see everyone.
They were hardcore for their mission and didn't let the rain stop them for their full day of stand work!
When your so worn out you fall asleep counting your money that you earned.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The pool with friends....
even if we did get rained out! Shiloh is actually the youngest one of these three!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ezra still enjoys his cars and creating different things with them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When the girls are so tired and rode in the backseat together.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dates before going back to school... Ezra got a haircut and ice cream with Beach.
The girls and I, also, went out for ice cream.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And once school did start, a mini date on another day with his momma for frosty and fries.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Beach's oter uncle is in town for a quick stop....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh was chosen to be co-captin of her cheer team, and the family was invited to be there to surprise her!
Hiding out....waiting for the reveal.
Signs encouraged!
Shiloh was very surprised and it was great to be there with her.
The team!
Co-captain with the captain.
While there is not as much fanfare to go with it, Zoe was, also, chosen for co-captin of the cross country team
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A temporary tattoo verse for the month that was such a needed meditation. "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast...."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With XC season here, long morning Saturday meets, also, arrived!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was not long after that sickness hit our home!
Doctor check ups..
They really were not into me taking a picture there!
But they are so cute I cannot help it!  Little did I know at the time where this health journey would take us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a full day of school and then cheer/XC, we went to National Night Out at the park. Shiloh got a karate demonstration.
While Zoe got some spicy candy that she did not care for.  Overall, though, a great time and a highlight for the month to combat the challenges ahead...
