To be honest I woke up feeling horrible that day with a fever. I wasn't sure how much of the day I could handle but I rested at home and then relaxed on the beach. I was so tired I literally fell asleep in the middle of everyone, Zoe took this flattering photo. 😏 I usually can't fall asleep unless no one is around but this day was different!
But a nap always does me good!
Ezra still wants to snuggle, even with this sickie.
Short walk with my girl...
Finding little crabs!
Josiah gets a lot of attention when he is around!
Including at the house!
We planned a late afternoon/evening outing to see more of the area. Danielle played tour guide in this shopping area since she had been there before.
It had a beautiful walkways along the water in-between shopping areas.
Perfect for pictures with this beautiful day!
The area is known for their wild horses, so there were many different painted ones around.
Zoe fully embracing teenage picture time, and I'm here for it.
It was so beautiful and we even saw a deer wading in the water.
We grabbed tacos at a place in the shopping center for dinner.
There was a Lilly pulitzer horse, so we had to send a pic to grandma.
Then we were off to the sand dunes. William took Josiah home to bed, as the sun was setting.
The Russells had been to Jockey's Ridge State Park before and talked it up! I was excited to go and we walked along a sand trail and up some dues (well the kids ran up the dunes).
It was a pretty amazing sight to see!
While there were some other people there, the vastness made it feel pretty deserted and so picturesque.
Fun jumps!
We made the kids take this photo before...
they ran down the hill. From this angle to you don't see how steep it truly is.
The OG Hughes.
Once the kids did finally come back they took some fun action shots.
Long Leg Loveland for sure!
Arron got in on the action as well.
And some group jumps with Aunt Lauren!
We stayed until it was dark and the park was closing, capturing every last moment.
And then found our way back to the car a different route.
Including having to go through water.
Even though it was really late, it was the last day and we had not gotten ice cream yet. It didn't seem right to not have ice cream on a beach vacation, so we decided to go anyway. Lauren loves ice cream!
This was a flight of different flavors which was fun to pick out and try a variety!
