It landed on a school day but that evening will celebrated with some presents....
As well as her choice dinner of Chick-fil-A, which we enjoyed at the park.
The Grands stopped by that evening to bring her a gift.
Some selfies with dad.

Celebrating at the Grands on another evening!

This year, instead of a party she wanted to go to the beach for a "Yes Day." Unfortunately, I was sick that Saturday, and then our weekends were full until school got out. So it was VERY belated, but we finally made it to Charleston one day in July. She brought along one of her best friends, and it made the day all the more fun!
We hopped on the trolly but after waiting for a few minutes, we just got off, as where we wanted to go was not that far away.
The girls enjoyed checking out some of the stores.
And I enjoyed checking how how they repurposed old buildings, including this former theatre.
This church had a beautiful display of ribbons that represented prayers of folks passing by.
Lunch was Zoe's choice of acai bowls at one of the spots we were walking by.
Then some more stores to check out...
Despite it being July, the weather was so beautiful, as were these girls!
After some confusing directions, we found coffee/drinks and took it to go.
More photos of the birthday girl and I don't mind!
Kind stranger offered to take our picture.
We continued our walk around the area and I snagged some more photos along the way.
We struggled to figure out how where the trolly spot was at to make it back to our car, but found some kind local people that helped us. We managed to take more photos while we waited.
After making out way back to our car, we headed to the Isle of Palms! It was a little after 4 and my "type A" self was a bit stressed in not knowing what we were going to do food wise for the evening. However, we came up on a Cane's Chicken, which the girls were excited about, so problem solved.
We beat the rush and then made the short drive to the beach.
The girls played in the ocean for a long time!
Stank face for being silly.
Then they got cleaned up and we took a few more photos at sunset.
Such sweet girls!
We topped off the day with ice cream before heading back to Columbia. I was worried about my body's endurance with all the driving and the long day, but God was gracious in giving me the energy to be alert to get safely home.
It was such an amazing day to celebrate Zoe. She just continues to mature and grow, especially this year and is just so fun to be around. What a joy to be her mom!
