Squeezing in the last of summer (Aug. '16)

Time to squeeze out the last bit of summer fun before school starts and try to stay cool in the process (seriously I last count when we got over 20 days of 100+ temps)!
The library had their end of the year celebration, in which the kids got their medals and a picture with Cocky.  One little fella was not thrilled at this idea!
It was a fun engaging program with a couple of games afterward.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Look at me, I'm a robot!"  I hear from the back seat one day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was one excited man when our coffee roaster finally came in!!!!  He couldn't  be anymore excited or relieved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our last trip to the museum and Aunt Lauren came too!
They had many different items to make prints.
They are so kind there and attempt to engage the children.  However, Shiloh will rarely respond when she is at work.
Ezra got into the action, too!
The artists and their works!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One project I finally got to was painting our front door area.  This was no small task with the heat and littles.  Ezra was not a fan!  Although, the door was open where he could get to me, he still did not like me doing this activity!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had a smashing time at a friend's house for their birthday.
So fun to celebrate, too!
Watch out for this girl in a field near you in the future!
Hippiest of birthdays little Gabe!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Confession: I'm not a huge fan of Play-Doh.  Or at least the mess that comes along with it and the constant supervision.
However, this cute face was pretty convincing to bust it out for some special time together.
The both loved making sandwiches!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe was so excited about her date with Aunt Lauren!
She chose a trip to Hire Wire!  I think they both had a blast.
Then a yummy stop on the way home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Co-op day and the kids arranged a bus trip with the Bear driving.  Shiloh, being the leader that she is, was directing it all.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another item to check off...ice cream in the summer, turning in those reading rewards.
Momma was still off dairy she she just soaked up the love of her littles.
Cheers!
"Hey mom, let's make silly faces."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another reading win...baseball game!  The girls got to go with their daddy and Poppy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think Lauren's watermelon slice is a SC omen, right?  (Don't move away!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So this has been fun....hacking up layers and layers of roots!!!  This has been a multi-day sweet dripping, arms shaking process! I snap a pic somewhat in the beginning of it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
School back in swing means this one gets extra snuggles!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe couldn't be more excited about her first soccer game and her grandparents coming to watch her!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A couple of days a week we have missed out on the littles nap time due to me working on my DR issue. I thought that they would fall asleep during our long car ride home to Irmo and waiting in carpool line....this, however, only happened once.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That smile gets me every time!
Ezra loves to water his parent's plants!  Please ignore the giant trash bag of roots I dug up!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On one said lack of nap day, Shiloh's body couldn't take it anymore and finally gave in.  During some time out time due to crazy behavior (I wonder why), she finally fell asleep under sister's bed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of the joy of brushing your teeth....if only I could get them to always stay in the bathroom and not run throughout the house.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe was excited to spend some time with Daddy at the Roastery!
Looking forward to many more fun memories here!  We had a great month but are excited to welcome some cooler weather!  Bring it fall!
Bring it school....these girls are ready!
A new school year and we were all pretty excited for a variety of reason.  There is something refreshing to a new start, to more routine and to how much learning seems to happen so quickly!
Thankful to check out Zoe's new classroom ahead of time and found that one of her friends from last year would be in her class!  This was a HUGE wonderful surprise!
Zo got to meet her new fun energetic teacher that seems to be a good fit.
She even had letters and glow sticks for her students to read the night before school was to start!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
However, Shiloh was the one to actually start school first.  We did get to briefly meet her teacher at her new school in the hallway but sadly was not able to check out her classroom.
The girls were so excited when the day finally arrived!  They were thrilled at the fun breakfast I made them.
My big 4-year-old couldn't be more trilled to finally start school herself.  She didn't seem nervous at all!
Ezra insisted on wearing a backpack at all times while we got ready, not wanting to be excluded!
This year Shiloh will only be attending two mornings a week at a homeschool class.  It will give her a good balance of the mommy time she craves as well as some school experience.
She had no problem with us leaving when it was time to go.  Such a comfort to leave her there!
She was still excited when she came home, gave me an update and had this adorable picture!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then it was Zoe's turn for her 1st.  She poured over the letter from her teacher the night before, excited for her glow stick that went along with it!
Of course she had a special breakfast, too!
And first day pictures!
Ezra was still snoozing away, at this point.
Her teacher took this hilarious picture.  Not sure why she is making this smile face now from time to time.
I had her make this at home.
The next day it was the sweetest thing.  The girls got up before me, went to our freezer in the basement to find more frozen waffles, toast them, and design faces in order to make me my own surprise in the living room. I came in right before the glitter was being taken out to decorate the table.  Man I love them (and my timing ;-)!
I have high hopes that this is going to be a great school year!  A part of my heart will miss them always home, though!  My little 4K and 1st grader!
