August Happenings

 August was coming in hot, well I mean it just was still hot!
We kicked off the month with a staff get together, and the big kids enjoyed this amazing blow up slide!
It kept them very entertained!
One last picture with adorable Vivian before we left!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Max Living Women's event rocked with some fun venders!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My long legged kids hitting up the dentist again, some not so thrilled about it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of my littles grabbed my phone to document their cousin's face tattoos.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our kids always look forward to watching a movie on the weekend!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ezra was very excited about all the bracelets his sister made him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One not as hot Saturday morning, we decided to hit up the trails at Harbison State Forest...
We ended up on a longer one than planned, and it was a bit to much emotionally for the girls. I always had at least one little jostling to hold my hand!
We did take one quick sit break.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Such an adorable child of mine...
that LOVES to match his father!
He was, also, very excited to pick up his new pencil case that he picked out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The littles ventured out on the golf course to play and had many interesting scenes set up.
Including one beloved koala bear.
And some scooting time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe captured a nice picture of her brother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Greenwise Market had a going out of business sale....so sad!  I took a couple of trips to stock up on some great sale items.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The kids were thrilled when daddy brought home some macaroons from one of our business partners, Silver Spoon.
They were all impressed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The kids thought it was so funny to all get together to be a camel.
They attempted many times to get a good picture.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sweet Ezra enjoying some reading time!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While Zoe was at eye therapy one morning, we headed downtown for a quick play in the park.
Zip lines are, by far, the favorite!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My little three got their reading medals from the library still.  However, it was quite bitter sweet for me, as they did not have a regular summer program, which we have participated ever year past and truly missed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Silly, silly sisters.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh made Zoe into "Z robot", inspired by a book that we had gotten from the library.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was elated that Zoe rocked her eye exam and, thus, finished eye therapy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Things keep moving along with the building....and we were excited to see the sign go up!
The end of the month was capped off with a long awaited visit from Beach's parents.  Such a different different August, as we wait till next month to start school.
Ezra - Kindergarten
It is something when your baby goes off to Kindergarten, especially when this was his first experience at all with school (besides the little bit of home school we did together).
He has such a sweet demeanor, I was confident he would do well, even if he had a little catching up to do.  There little art is the best!
Ezra had never been into coloring or drawing, and his first little picture cracks me up.  No body but a big smile!
His family.
As the year went by, I saw him grow a lot in this area.....a picture of our family.
I love this class activity where they describe themselves!  I would say this is pretty accurate.
The things that he did in art class were really fun, even if he did not have time to complete it all.
This is one of Ezra's future goals, being a fire fighter.
In kindergarten they create "books"; this was one of his favorites that he made:
"Dogs are taken care of by people."
"Dogs need healthy food."
"Dogs are smart." I don't think he got to finish this page.
Ezra drew this side view of our house, which looks pretty accurate.  Although, a fire is rare!
This is one of Ezra's (and my) favorites from this year...School bus driving down the road.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then the quarantine work at home started.  So we continued on, but things did look quite a bit differently.  Much of the work was done in his notebook, including his first research project on his habitat of choice, the Rainforest.
"I chose the Rainforest because skinks live in it."
"Trees have lots of leaves in the rainforest."
"Plants that live in your habitat: canopy, ferns, liana."
"The Rainforest has lots of rain"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He had daily writing assignments, but this was not his preferred activity.
"I have a cake at parties."
"Favorite Trip: First we played in the castle."
"Garbage Truck picks up trash."
"First we unpacked."
"Then we ate dinner."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another story that Ezra made that he was quite proud of:
"The Little Egg and the Big Bad Wolf"
"Earth went to Big Bad Wolf's house."
"Earth pushed Big Bad Wolf into the fire."
"Earth has a new house."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The chicken who loved books."
"This is my favorite toy because it can go in the grass."
Ezra's favorite things to draw continues to be cars, trucks, and boats.
"I like spring because I get to play outside, because I get to go strawberry picking."
"Beach & Me"
"I am going to the beach.  I will go on the boogie board in the water.  I will play in the sand."
"My favorite thing to do in kindergarten was recess because you get to play."
This was not a Kindergarten year I would have chosen but I am thankful for extra time with my sweet boy.  It is amazing to see how much he has grown and developed over this years time!
