Zoe 8th Birthday

Zoe's birthday fell on Easter this year.  With it already being April Fools Day, we had a lot of fun to be done! After some thought, Zoe did not like the idea of sharing her birthday.  So we mostly celebrated the day before.
Her meal of choice: cereal and milk (her first bowl ever) and oatmeal.
  It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt and activities at the park.
May have been the only ones to hop to it.
Love the joy that they find!
Birthday squeezes!
Candy piece of choice...
Then we had to hit up the awesome local coffee kiosk for a treat for the adults! ;-)
Zoe wanted to spread out her presents throughout the day.
The first one was a hit and she was off making bracelets for some time!
Then Zoe and I headed to her first experience roller skating at a friend's birthday.
So cautious, I walked around with her for a bit.  Her favorite was when they turned the lights down!
Sweet Lauren seemed to have a great time at her party!
In finally making it back home, we enjoyed some hot dogs, popcorn, & carrots (meal of choice) and then it was off to more presents.
Sister loved sharing her card with Zoe.
Zoe had some very specific gifts that she asked for...
Shiloh wanted a picture with her!
(Outtake)
Zoe is really into Shopkins right now...
and shirts with thumb holes.  She was beyond excited for this winning number!
As well as some other fun dresses...
And more craft kits.  Zoe has the best reactions that it makes it so fun to see her open things!
I would say we had a blast of a day for one special girl.  (Even though she was really sad she couldn't have a party with her friends.) Yet there was still more celebration to come...

Marching On

March brought in a handful of busyness, health ups and downs, a woman's retreat, birthdays (Shiloh and Ezra) and a grandparent visit.  Most of the time I just tried to keep my head above water and keep up with everything (some days were better than others at this).
Zoe had Dr. Seuss Day at school and was determined to wear this (when the hat was forgotten at a family's home, Daddy went out to get it....even late at night - such a loving father).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We hosted a Young CIU Alumni event at the roaster and had a great turn out.
Travis was able to share some of his expertise with the coffee and chocolate pairing!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh got her own birthday pancake (it's always exciting when they get one bigger than their face).
Twining it!
When we to a local children's festival, which the kids love, and they "performed" with Moana.
Then it was onto face painting...
Ezra was excited about seeing Pal Patrol.
Wonder woman and Batman.
They loved having their picture with Moana...
and the mermaid they met last year.
Fishing for treasures!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometimes I just want to capture the everyday moments of life...like a quiet moment where Shiloh was writing while I was reading...
Ezra getting to pretend to drive daddy's truck...
or just a silly time of snuggles (my fav).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Danielle's birthday was also this month...
and Zoe was excited to make and give her a card.  She is LOVED!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Random moments with Shiloh.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Brownie helpers...
and chowing down!  (The face cracks me up!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally a warmer day and the kids requested a picnic.
And afterwords had a heyday painting a large rock in the yard.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some of the apps they have out right now do the craziest things!
And I think I enjoy seeing it as much as the kids!
So funny!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hunter created a masterpiece for us!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A play date and these boys were to busy to get a picture....so I had to get it when I could!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This time of year and Shiloh couldn't wait to get out the little bit of Easter decor we had and set things up!
She gets so excited about holidays and all the decor that comes with it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In that Easter was the next day we finally got around to decorating eggs!
So big....Ezra can now do everything on his own!  He mainly stuck with green, though, his favorite color.
 To be honest, I was having crazy hard anxiety that day, so I was thankful for a little break to try to bring some joy to these littles (well and for momma, too).
 BUT we did miss daddy doing it with us and I should have waited till he was home...so sorry Beach, I will try to do better next year!
 Thankful to have more good days than bad lately to enjoy Spring on its way!
