Pieces of April (Part 2)

April was so full that I spilt it into a couple of posts (first one can be found here).  Continuing with the fun...
Eating outside...ANY time the weather is decent.  Taco Tuesday has been on the menu for months!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sweet play dates...
and beginning of the tween years for the oldest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With all the work being done in the basement, it allows some fun entertainment for Ezra!
He wanted to get in on his own actions as well!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Ezra gets upset with me, he does his best to avoid eye contact!  I confess this is often hard not to laugh at.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Such fun times at a friend's wedding with my hot hubby!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This little man is always ready to give his momma a kiss!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our local library often has fun things the kids enjoy...
this messy activity is not one that this momma would have tried on her own at home!
But it was a hit with a couple of my kids!
Bubble paint!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As time is nearing the end of our one-on-one time, I try to seize little moments that we can be together.
Ezra and I explored Irmo park and all the fun little things to see!
He was enamored with just running back and forth here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And done!  As I have been feeling better I have been able to start back up with some exercising.  It feels good to be able to move more again and gain some strength back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some thoughtful friends organized a precious time together when were were not able to go to the women's retreat at our church.
It included some yummy snacks, a fun craft, and...
an amazing dinner alfresco.
It was such a treasured time to be together to share our hearts and lift one another up to the Lord.  They are such amazing examples of the body of Christ to me!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My sweet little artist entered an art contest in her district (creating such when I was taking a nap) and then won 2nd place in her age division.  I do so enjoy to see what my littles can create/do all on their own.
They had an award ceremony as part of the international festival at the park.
Proud little girl and parents!
We spent a little time checking out the festival afterwords!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My littles so enjoy creating and did so in making their own festival at their grandparents' house the following night.  It was complete with games...
face painting (Grammy is a good sport)...
and sword fighting.
Their creative juices are always following!
Such another fun very full month!
Retirement
My amazing momma, Martha Hughes, had an event at her school celebrating her upcoming retirement.  We were honored to get to attend as well.  Ezra immediately shared the card he had made...
It was a sweet time of hearing some speakers share about how she (and her BFF who is also retiring) are so loved and will be greatly missed!
Followed by some presents...
Mom got to show us the garden she had created with her class through a grant that she had won this year.
Thankful the whole family was there to celebrate such a special day!
We then went out to dinner to continue in the celebration (this may be a first for this whole crew).
I am so proud of my momma! She has poured her heart and soul into teaching and has done such a fabulous job. She has touched so many lives that she will not fully understand this side of heaven.  However, I'm glad that she will now be able to take more care of herself and get some well deserved rest (not to mention even more relaxed family time)!
Pieces of April (Part 1)
Man it was another full one!  Besides Zoe's Birthday, Beach's Birthday, Easter, Shiloh's field trip, and a fun little strawberry picking outing....these were the other sweet little moments of April.
For career day at school this year, Zoe was a reporter (and actually got to interview Chip Huggins that day at school)...
and Shiloh was a teacher.  This fits right up her alley and personality.  (And why does she look like a teenager and not just a 7-year-old?)
My loves...may you always fit and want to sit in my lap!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The first graders had a performance at school in which they sang songs from the movies.  Addy was to wear PJs for the Polar Express.
  Shiloh was a "robber" from batman.  She loved this role and being right in front on the stage with her animated self.  It was adorable and they all did a great job!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is not lost on me how many short times I have left with just little man!  So I treasure our dates together.  We enjoy going to the art museum each month for Gladdy's gang.  Including a story...
and making one's own art.  This month he chose to make a car out of pipe cleaners.  Ezra is always hesitant to be able to start but is willing to stick in there for the process.
Then we hit up Small Sugar for a lunch date!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Prepping for Zoe's Birthday party, she wanted to help make the cupcakes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Days and days of reading with my first grader.  She is slowly growing in this skill and enjoying it more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another "A" honor roll celebration for Zoe!
She had caught on to wanting to make good grades for this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The girls school hosts a Tales for Totes program that we have been going to for years.
It's a bit of a challenge to get there so early.  However, Ezra LOVED planting his own sunflowers to take home and watch grow.  This was our last one ever.  Starting to say goodbye to traditions that we have held for years (it is hard for this momma).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My sister and brother-in-law took Ezra out for his birthday date and sent me some pictures.
Complete with checking out some trackers, chicks, hats...
and ice cream!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A short little stop with my Shiloh to do her reading homework and enjoy a beautiful time at a playground with just us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You will often find us pausing to look outside at the Lord's creation, especially if we need a reset!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Birthday cards for the Poppy!
And singing in anticipation for dessert!
5-year-old love...
and the whole gang!  Happy birthday dad!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spring break and we headed to Waterfall junction at the zoo...
So beautiful and so many little treasure spots...

More April to come...
