August Full of Different Themes!

August was a time of transition as the kids started a new school and we, also, had some fun thrown in there.  We all made it to the Irmo Night Out.
They had many fun vehicles to check out...
some amazing food samples from local restaurants,
and fun venders.
The kids managed to get on the local news.
We, also, saw some friends there, which made it all the sweeter!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another blood draw.  The kids have had several over the past few months, as we monitor their mold levels in attempts to lower them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An amazing perk at work!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our church rented out a skating rink for the night.
I even skated as well (it had been decades since that has happened) and took some blurry action shots.
Ezra was timid, at first, but then got more of a hang of it.
It was a great night!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe made herself into a cartoon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beach finished up putting the last of the flooring down in the basement.  We wrote on the ground in what would soon be Zoe's room before he did so!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A took a brief walk and found some geese.  I was hit hard with Covid and pretty much isolated in my room for 10 days.  I was glad to get outside, finally, and be in nature.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh enjoyed a friend date with some buddies before school started back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An IKEA trip with my man to pick up some things for our house!  We enjoyed lunch first!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were off to the Free Times party, simply dressed up for the Rock and Roll theme this year.
Confession: I am not a huge dress up fan and we usually do not participate in this piece.  I think I had been burned out of all the years of doing so every weekend for my college job of being a children's party entertainer, that it loss the appeal for me.  However, a quick search on Amazon and seeing these easy cheap items was inspiring enough to give it a go.  I mean I couldn't even tell you the rockstar names (that's how bad I am with such), and I realized upon others telling us who we were that I should have thought that piece through a tiny bit.  Don't worry Beach wasn't confused.
 I came to find that I like trying out the red hair!
We attempt to get to the event early (and leave early) while it is less crowded.
I spy some rolled up freeze dried coffee in your sleeve sir (doubles for looking like a cigarette package) 😝!
Delicious food that has stations throughout.
So our free tickets were apart of the award for wining Best Coffee in Columbia!  Beach, also, won Best Small Business Owner.  Both awards we have perviously won and we are honored to win again!
The 70s tent had a tie-dye station that was fun.
One last picture before going back to real life with our kiddos!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh created a movie themed party in Ezra's room, and he was the body guard.
Tickets to the Baby Yoda party please!
She created all sorts of snacks for such.
Yoda food that was, also, pretty tasty!

While they have only started training earlier in the month (as opposed to how normally conditioning would be over the summer), it was time for XC meets!  Unfortunately for the girls team, their first one was canceled for weather, and the second one for safety (even after waiting on the starting line for 40 minutes).  It was a hard start of a new season.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The girls have enjoyed their pet garden snail.  They often like to put him on my desk.  One day I witnessed him attempting to escape and even lift up the plastic wrap to slide on out!
That sums up all the happenings of the month!
ALA
We had a very new chapter for our family this year, as all the kids were going to start at a brand new charter school.
This included uniforms and of course brand new sweatshirts!
They were literally finishing the building still during orientation.
Ezra enjoyed meeting his teacher.
Confession, I met 15 teachers between our three kids and it was a bit overwhelming.  I had barely gotten my strength back after recovering from another round of Covid. By the time we got to Zoe I did not recall too much.  I was very thankful to be able to attend, though.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There were a lot of school supplies to get strait and check off!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our last summer weekday together and we ran some last minute errands and got their favorite, subs!
And cashed in some ice cream coupons!
That night we had amazing Blaze pizza promotion that Beach could actually eat (as the have gluten free and vegan cheese)!  Pizza party and movie night!
I loaded my cauliflower crust with all the things (and learned that it lasts more than one meal)!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The long anticipated day arrived.  It was too dark to take our normal first day of school pictures outside, so inside it was!
8th
6th (silly)
and smiles!
4th!
They even have a school bus that comes to our area (although very early, hoping that part will change soon)...
And they were off!  The first time any of them have ridden the bus to school or that I haven't dropped them off at school!!  I was thankful that they were together, at least, to start this new journey.  Here's to new adventures!
