December - Chasing the Fun (Part 2)

Continuing from the December fun (part 1 here)....
The littles were excited to find that an extended family member gave them gift bags!
This was probably their favorite item, their own sparkling grape juice bottles (to be enjoyed on New Years Eve).
Many other treasures as well!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Staff Christmas party, and I had an awesome helper in creating my first charcuterie board.
She loved it and was an amazing helper...I say we did alright for beginners.
So thankful for our staff and a chance to get together with them all!
It was a long night for some, as we stayed to clean up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spirit week at work....my "ugly Christmas sweater".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While we haven't done this before, we decided to make some hot chocolate and search for some lights in our PJs.
"Silly face"
We were successful in finding some awesome houses!
My queen decorator loved it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ezra remains to be my little shadow most days, preferring to be by my side.
Static hair fun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yet another drive through experience, this time to Saluda Shoals lights.
We waited WELL over an hour to get in, and they had their giffed suckers to keep them busy.  Although they found that they were not the best tasting, and just made them really sticky.  Ug.
Since we did not do the official walk this year, we still got to see the lights, though!
We ventured out of the car on this cold night to walk around the pond. It was quite chilly, which perhaps is why we saw so few people doing the same.
New for us, and we almost missed it as we didn't know where it was, was the tube slide.
We all tried and loved it and the kids wanted to go multiple times.
On the way back to the car, Shiloh joined in the display, pretending to ice skate!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe met up with her bestie at the cafe to do a gift exchange.
The sweetest, thoughtful gift (Zoe loves foxes and soft snuggly things).
Zoe had created a picture collage for her...
And framed a picture of them from many years ago.
They had a great time catching up during their break (even if it was Christmas Eve).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shiloh completed her masterpiece from her Christmas gift (actually she went back and edited a few more things to it).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In seeing a new neighbor down the street that she thought had moved in, Shiloh baked some cookies and put together a basket for them.  Always the giver.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoe was over the moon that she was able see her 5th grade teacher, who she loves, at the cafe.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A new dentist, and they won Ezra over with this video game (momma could have done with a volume control button).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ezra found a Christmas gift he had left in his room for his Poppy.
To finish out the fun of Christmas break we, also, got to visit the lights at the zoo and celebrate New Years in a fun way!  This has been one of the hardest years yet, so I am ready to say adieu and bring on 2022.
Belated Zoe Lights
We weren't able to make it work to see the lights at the zoo before Christmas, but did squeeze in a visit on an amazingly gorgeous day afterward!
We were thankful to get to go with Beach's parents.
We love the seal exhibit.
Zoe enjoyed attempting to capture some pictures with her new phone.
The look on my face to attempt a good look on theirs ;-)
It worked!
Shiloh got into wanting pictures in Santa's seat.
Very into it.
It was so warm that the fire wasn't even needed for warmth, but was beautiful none the less.
Adults having a good time, too!
"Snow!" The littles will take what they can get, even if it is just soap.
Since we went so early, we had time to stop by and grab dinner on the way home, to the kids delight!
Amazing weather made for an even more amazing night!
