Christmas Day

All I truly wanted for Christmas was to be well...well enough to enjoy our family time and celebrate His Birth.  The Lord gave me this precious gift and so much more!
We take things slow on Christmas.  It is all our kids know, so they don't think anything of it.  It is a joy to truly be present in each moment and saver them all.
After being well rested (aka the adults don't get up early....well except for Beach who did get up and start a fire before the kids arose and then went back to bed), we have stocking time.
Zoe got her favorite gift of the day, smelly markers (which if I'm honest I only bought because they were on sale as surely they must be toxic).  She was ecstatic and I was happy to see her reaction.  It is the little things!
It is tradition that Beach gets his HUGE stocking from his childhood filled.
The kids get just as excited, as they are often in on it, including this handmade card from Shiloh.
It is mostly little treats that they helped pick out (and they hope to sample).
Zoe gave him a box of Chocolates as well!

Then my parents joined us for brunch.  Shiloh blew out the candle after singing Happy Birthday to Jesus.
Then we were all set for the main event.
I will say we were all glad Grammy and Poppy came for a visit!
Last photos before we started with the gifts.  Confession: I have wanted matching PJs for years, but could never justify the cost.  When these went on sale, I finally scooped up the classic looking items and we have enjoyed staying warm in them!
We took turns watching each other opening.  The girls were pretty proud that they wrapped all of Ezra's presents.
Shiloh's favorite gift a little ukulele!
Zoe is now into Lego's, girl Lego's that is!
Shiloh gave Beach a "I love dad" pin.
He got some new kicks as well.
Zoe gave Shiloh a coloring poster.
Zoe got a bike, as she did not have one that fit her. Side note...you can find amazing deals on Facebook Marketplace!
Then time for play...
and getting outside, as the sunny weather begged to be appreciated.  Mom had actually never been on the "golf course" so went went on a short tour.
Zoe got some practice attempting to ride without training wheels.
And Daddy got a workout in trying to teach her.

That night we were back at my parents for dinner.  The cousins happened to be wearing dresses that matched our PJs.
Beach and I wore our fun Christmas sweaters to get one more use out of them.
Then my parents gave them their gifts.  Hess trucks forever!
Shiloh was in love with this Gingerbread doll my mother had before Christmas and soooo wanted to keep it.  So she requested it for her present and was thrilled when she actually got it.  Who said presents need to be new?
Shiloh gave her cousins a present and wrapped it (with a pillow case, scarf and hair bow).  She was proud to read them her card and explain how to open it.
The contents may have been things she found around the house but there were still many smiles!
Danielle tried on Adalyn's gift, a blanket mermaid tail.
Aaron was a good sport and tried on one, too!
Advice for life: you should always take the opportunity to take a picture with a mermaid.
We capped the night off with the adults playing a hilarious game of Telestrations.  Danielle was very excited about getting her picture taken in the middle of the game.
This was one special day and one for the books.  Happy Birthday Jesus!  We celebrate you as the greatest gift!
