Beach's 40

Like so many others that have had birthdays during the time of the quarantine, Beach's birthday was not the exception in how it did not go as originally planned.  Ideas to celebrate his big 40 with a quick trip to a new land or surrounded by a ton of his friends had to tucked away.  This was not to be.
However, we did have some great times together.  We celebrated with my family with an amazing dinner and the kids picked some flowers for him.
Beach had an interesting technique to cut his steak; it can be challenging when using paper plates and eating outside.  He didn't let it stop him, though!
Prentiss were matching, so a picture was needed.
Note to all, if Shiloh is behind you, you never know how your pictures will turn out...
and there is a pretty good chance you will have assistance in blowing out your candles.
One of mom's best gluten free cakes yet!
Handmade cards are the sweetest.
Danielle got in on the artistic action as well...giving some beautiful watercolors...
And went with the theme of the times....
Lauren made a beautiful painting as well.
Surprise!  Glad you forgot that you wanted this!

For his birthday day, we made amazing grit bowls.  Beach was very gracious to me when the Instant Pot did not seem to want to cook the grits, and it was a much longer process than anticipated.
Zoe loves her some daddy!
Shiloh gave the biggest card yet to her beloved Dad.
Have all the love for their daddy!
Her present also contained some 3-D art that she created!

Later we headed over to spend time with our good friends!
There is always a lot of energy and laughter with this crew...potty books will especially bring out the giggles.
Kara was amazing in making a gluten free cake, a way to Beach's heart for sure.
We spent hours talking and some time laying down the cards!
In which I was again reminded that I need to bring my competitive nature down a couple of notches.
My Beach, I am thankful for you, thankful that we could spend some good time with family and friends, to just be, and celebrate all that you are.  Happiest of birthdays (and I can't believe we are 40)!
