Last Day Wonders

So, if I am being honest, the level of "summer fun" was pretty low this year.  A lot of work and focus went into getting our new work building ready. That, along with my health not being the best, and lack of normal summer activities, left things pretty bland.

The last day of summer break was Labor day, and I was determined to add some fun to the day.  So with impute from the littles, they packed up their scooters and we headed to the park.
We met many ducks along the way.
They played just briefly on the playground equipment.
We all greatly enjoyed watching turtles being fed by another park goer who came prepared.
The kids were quick to jump back on their scooters, just stopping to see some geese along the way.
They were supper excited to stop by Wendy's for a frosty.  A rare treat that gets me sentimental, as I had eaten such when laboring with Shiloh in the very area so many a year ago.
I had to beg for  some selfies, as the littles were so enamored with the wild life.
Happy Trails!

The kids were, also, excited about an end of the summer party they had planned with our neighbor.
They were disappointed that he wasn't there in the beginning but started without him.
Part of the activities planned was throwing berries that they had picked from the yard at one another.
Another round of tug-a-war, girls verses boys...
They girls held on tight for awhile!
And finally, the highlight was the water play with the hose.  The squeals of joy were music to this momma's ears!
While we didn't have the most thrilling of summers, I am so thankful for the overall good attitudes and creativeness of my littles.
