Safari of the South

This has to be one of the best things locally I have ever done!  Less than an hour from Columbia is the drive through for Eudora Safari.  We went on a day that the kids were out of school and were one of the few people there.
Your have the option of buying feed for the animals at the entrance, which we got a bucket for all the kids.  This made the animals extra friendly to us!
I was excited to take some pictures and just a bit freaked out by the process as well!
It didn't take us long to realize why they warned us about the ostriches being aggressive, as they did attack and would grab food quickly out of the car.  We then were a lot more cautious when we would see one around.
However, most of the animals were so sweet.
I LOVED seeing the mixed expression of fear, excitement, and joy on their faces.
The slobbery dirty noses were a bit of a turn off, though!
Lama lama!
When we went to Animal Kingdom a couple of years ago, the ride I was most interested in was the Safari ride.  This was far better than that ten fold!
Ezra was, by far, the most offended by the dirty noises of some that got wiped on his window.  He begged for a car wash on the way home, offering to pay for it himself!
We were thankful that my mom and one of my nieces was able to join us!
Shiloh explained that she had all sorts of mixed feelings bubbling inside her while on the drive and Addilyn agreed.  So many squills from us all!
Such a beautiful day with the amazing animals.
We were warned, "Do not feed the zebras!"  We were thankful that they came to give us a close look, but we made sure our windows were up for them!
These series of pictures of Shiloh crack me up. An animal came over that she was not so thrilled about, and she was racing to roll her window up.
They were much more of a fan of the camel.
(For the most part.)
They, also, had a fun fall fest area for us to get out and explore.
Fun photo opts!
The most pumpkin of them all.
Their hay barrel pose ;-)
One of their favorite things was the big pit of dried corn, like one big sand pit.
It was cold, but they didn't mind and didn't want to leave this area.
Who needs the beach?
A little petting zoo area, with more friendly animals.

Pony rides...
A very interesting area of parakeets...
We soon learned that they were very friendly and would like to rest on heads.
I was nervous about getting pooped on.
Shiloh found having many on her at a time was not favorable.
I may have had to take a couple of pictures before I helped out.
Then it was off to the races, the pig races that is...
After three rounds, Shiloh was pumped to have won a prize.
Love my littles!
They had another whole area to walk around that was more zoo like and along the way we found the most friendliest of butterflies.
It stayed on Zoe's finger quite awhile as we walked around.

Sweet cousins....
The only downside....we had to leave earlier than I would have liked!  While we did have quite a while to spend there, I could have easily stayed another hour or two, as we were having so much fun. Alas, we had other commitments to move on to but will cherish today and plan for a return trip in the future!
