Vegas (Day 3) - Hoover Dam

We had planned to see the Hoover Dam on Friday (with the GoCity Pass), as we wanted to space out the bus travel, however they needed to bump it up a day.  So that meant another early morning (but not quite as bad as waking up at 4am for the Grand Canyon).  It was a gorgeous day, and we had such a picturistic first stop at Lake Mead.

As beautiful as it was, there are some major issues for the locals with loss of water over the years.

I found it comical how windy it was, especially when attempting to take a selfie.

Our guide explained to us that this was the tunnel that they filmed Road Runner at.

Next stop, the gorgeous bridge over the Hoover Dam.
It as quite a view and a great way to check things out.
Then we drove through the atual Dam, it was disappointing that we were not able to walk on it and check things more closer, but we did stop at another view!
Barzar game was outside this random closed gift shop that reminded me of my favorite childhood movie, Big.
Then we had one more stop to check out the green grass the city created for the long horn sheep to hang out at.
Then it was back to the strip, exploring new areas.
Wedding ship...
And grabbing lunch at Senior Frogs on the water!
I love Chris' effort in to not be included in this picture.
Another GoCity Pass win as it mostly paid for our meal!
Since it was such a gorgeous day out, we decided to take the long walk to our next destination that was at the beginning of the strip...
The Strat!  We did have to sit a minute and recoup. Needed to get over the disappointment of the illusionist show that we were there for was canceled (part of our GoCity Pass- I should have called first to check - I had no idea this was a possibility of happening).
However, not a total waste, as we were able to still head up the tower (GoCity Pass), which was massive.
It opened up to a gorgeous lounge where you can sit or walk around and enjoy the amazing 360 views.
They, also, have an outside deck area!
Beach noticed a way that you could create shadows on the inside from the outside and we had fun playing around with that.
Then we walked around a little bit more before taking a Lift closer to dinner.
The hotels are so fun to have photo opts everywhere it seems.
We were hoping to, also, check out the Eiffel tower (GoCity Pass) and even came back a few times, it ended up being down for maintenance.  So this view would have to do.
We grabbed dinner at Gordon Ramsay burger (Uber driver's recommendation), and were thankful not to wait.
To be honest, we were pretty full from all the eating that had been going down that Beach and I decided to share a burger and the best truffle fries (not pictured)!
We walked, took a free tram, and explored on our way back to our hotel.
While not really my thing, can you go to Vegas without pulling a slot machine even once.  Beach searched out an older one!
I realized how much I don't like gambling, as I am not a risk taker, did not fully know what was going on, and hate to lose, but did laugh along with Lauren.
That along with being pretty wiped out from the day, it wasn't long before we headed upstairs to bed!
