Hughes Christmas

The sickness had traveled around our whole Hughes family, so it wasn't until New Years Eve that we could actually get together to celebrate Christmas together!
We had a delicious brunch meal after church.
And eventually made it to presents.  Josiah was quick to check out his while we waited for all to gather.
Examining his ornament!
While it may had been getting close to his nap, Josiah was still precious to watch.
Then it was the big kids turn...
Ezra was excited to give Lydia pickles for her present!
Zoe has really been enjoying art lately and made a sketch for my mom, which included flowers, as she knows she loves them.  (All of the adults got presents, too, but I apparently forgot to take any pictures of that.)
Josiah sported his new outfit for the cousin picture they managed to get.
Time for a bottle.
While I may have forgotten a full family pictures, I did snag one our our gracious host.
We were having so much fun we decided to continue on with the party, which meant silly games, for those that wanted to join (and then a snack dinner, as it had gotten so late).
It is fun now that the kids are older and we can all play together.
It was New Years Eve, and my children did not let me forget the sparkling cider I had bought for us to celebrate.
So once home, we popped open the bubbly and had our countdown.
The girls pleaded to stay up until midnight to watch the ball drop, so I did and celebrated again with them.  Trying to say yes to the little things that matter to them and create memories.
So thankful for today and a time to slow down to be with family and celebrate.
