Take Me Out To the Ballgames

There is just something special about baseball, that all American feel to it!  This year the kids participated in both county's reading programs and got tickets to both local teams.  They each have their own special feel and advantages to them!
First up, the Blowfish (I'm not sure why one would want such a "fighting" mascot but somehow it just works)!  The kids got to walk to bases before the game in celebration of their reading.
They upgraded us to better seats and I attempted to take a family picture....
but gave up and settled for this one!
All the kids could think/talk about was the snow cones that they also won, a special treat indeed, so we just went ahead and dove in!
At one point of the game, I was at the other end of the stadium talking to friends, when Zoe came running to find me, exclaiming that she wanted to run on the field again!  I had no idea what she was talking about, and after conferencing with Beach (and hearing that he had just heard the announcement and knew little else), we attempted to find where to go.  However, it was the wrong spot, but when we saw the kids running across the field, the girls took off in attempts to catch up and join them.
I had no idea that Ezra, who I was holding ,would want to go as well.  But when he saw them way out in the field, he too, took off running to the area. Mommy was not up to running to him but he got turned away when he got to the gate as he was to late.  He came to me wailing in tears!
However, he cheered up after he got to walk down all the bleachers. every. one. of. them.  It made him so happy I couldn't help but oblige.
Back in our seats, Zoe loves to know every detail of the game and what's going on.  I love this about her and explained away!
Even though it got pretty late, the kids were doing so well we decided to stay for the whole game.
Ezra is now in a silly phase of making lovely faces when attempting a selfie.
The night wouldn't be complete without a hug from the Blowfish himself.  (Shiloh may have had to be pulled away from leaving his hat alone.)
Awkward hugging a ball...but fun none the less!

Our second inning of baseball fun, came in the form of the Fireflies a few nights later.
It was superhero night, which scared Ezra and he clung ever so tightly!
The hot dog dinner coupons were quickly cashed in and enjoyed by the littles.
We were fortunate that we had most of the family able to join us (we missed you mom)!
We took a little walk around the fun park to break things up a bit.

The Firefly statue mascot.  Apparently Zoe really loves the non-real kind as well!
We attempted some popcorn but lets be honest...I'm spoiled by my Beach's whirley pop popcorn maker at home (and this does not even come close)!
Attempting some girl selfies....
but realized I was only getting silly at the moment, so I joined in.
Gotta represent the Loveland Coffee Brand!
All the blonde cousin love!
As we were headed out Ezra began crying due to his shoes giving him blisters from all the walking.  A kind stranger gave him a baseball, which dried up his tears rather quickly!
Another fun event as we close out the summer!  We all had a blast (the girls even ended the night by running the bases)...
and this will have to be a repeater for sure next year!!!
