Totality

We had a pretty special opportunity here in Columbia to be in the line of totality for the Solar Eclipse.  Granted it was hyped up a bit, as the town prepared for the insane amount of people that were in to get a glimpse, too!  However, it was truly amazing!
I made the kids extra prepared with the additional eye protection masks that they enjoyed decorating themselves!
We decided to take in the event at my parent's new house.  Something special when we all get to pause from the normalcy of life in the middle of the day to observe this event together!
We were glad Aunt Lauren and William could be there as well!
While we were waiting, Beach took the kids out in Dad's new canoe.
Ezra was petrified of his first boat ride as he left me but quickly settled down as they got going (lucky big sister was there to comfort him).
While it is a small pond, it was perfect for the littles to see things from a new perspective!
When Ezra had had enough, I got a turn!
So much fun that they didn't want it to end!
However, we wanted to be prepared for the main event!  We could feel the temperature dropping as the sun began to be covered.
Zoe started freaking out when totality came (unfortunately I had yelled at her in fear of looking up without her glasses for not wanting her to go blind).  She bust out in tears but received some comfort from Grammy as the rest of us gazed in amazement of God's show!
Just wished it had been longer (and for Zoe to enjoy it more - she still claims she did not like it and never wants to see one again).  The shadows right before and after were a fun surprise (to me) as well!
Thanks mom (and photo bomb dad) for hosting and loving us again!  We so enjoyed it and it will be impressed in our hearts for years to come!  We serve a mighty God!
