Gonna catch me some ....sand (beach 4)

While the kids favorite thing may be the pool, I'll take the beach any day!  It was great exploring Beaufort the day before but my toes were calling for sand between them...

This time Poppy brought some of his toys out, too!
Although I think the kids had more fun with smashing the paddles!
We went exploring some more with Grammy and Aunt D.
Finding the horseshoe crabs around doing their thing.
We did have a sun break for snacks!
Who's ready to play some more...
Shiloh enjoyed attempting to get a kite to fly...
And did so as long as she was running!
Latter that day dad went on his long anticipated mission to catch some crabs...
Aaron captured some of his attempts.
I took the one awake child to check it out....although we need some transition time of sitting together (waking up has never been her strong suite)...
and I attempted to make crazy selfies with her to break her bad mood...
which eventually worked...
And Shiloh wanted to join in the crabbing/shrimping business!
Daddy gave her some casting lessons...
which she attempted....
and together caught one shrimp.  A first for both of them.
This was a magical time on the beach, as we were pretty much the only ones there!  Besides some kids that came by to join us briefly.
Dad even caught a couple of crabs in the tide pools that were created during the high tide.
We did let our shrimp go...
While Poppy continued on his quest we enjoyed the tide pools.
I taught Shiloh the art of a dribble castle but she was more interested in the mud impressions.  It was such a special time with my middle little....that comes as a rare commodity these days.
Back on base the others had some special grammy time.
Later, we joined the others for dinner that night and enjoyed another beautiful sunset!
